Casa Callewaert

The project

Casa Callewaert, a charming holiday apartment located in an attractive area, needed a modern website to stimulate sales and rentals. Previously, the booking process was via Facebook, which was not only cumbersome, but also did not offer the professional appearance that the client had in mind. With the new website, the owner not only wanted to find a solution for the simple and efficient handling of reservations, but also to create an online environment that reflected the charm, warmth and hospitality of the holiday apartment. The website had to be visually attractive, but also clear, functional and easy to use. The core wish was that the website would find the right balance between a modern, sleek appearance and a warm, inviting atmosphere that suits the target group of holidaymakers.

The aim of the project was therefore to build a platform that the client could manage independently, with room for future expansions such as reviews or blog posts. At the same time, the website had to be suitable for quickly updating information such as availability, rates and photos of the apartment without external help. In short, the new website had to offer a total solution: a user-friendly and professional business card for Casa Callewaert that would significantly simplify and automate the booking process.

What I made

For Casa Callewaert I developed a custom solution that is fully aligned with the needs of the client. The website is built with WordPress, a platform known for its flexibility and user-friendliness, so that the client can easily make changes themselves after delivery. This was an important aspect of the project, because the owner does not have a technical background, but still wants to be able to regularly adjust the content of the website. Think of updating rates, adding photos or changing availability information.

The design of the website is sleek and modern, but without losing the warmth that is needed to entice visitors to stay. I opted for a minimalist approach to keep the user experience optimal: no unnecessary elements or animations that slow down the loading time or distract attention. The colors and images have been carefully selected to evoke a feeling of peace and vacation. The emphasis is on clarity and simplicity, with clear CTAs (Call to Actions) such as “Book now” buttons that make the booking process run smoothly. The website is fully responsive, meaning that it automatically adapts to different screen sizes, from desktops to tablets and smartphones. This was a key part of the project, as more and more people are booking their holidays via mobile devices.

One of the technical challenges was integrating a user-friendly booking system that seamlessly matches the customer’s needs. By using simple plugins within WordPress, it is easy for visitors to check availability and make a booking directly, without affecting the overall speed or simplicity of the website. As a result, the entire booking process, which previously ran via Facebook, is now automated and much more professional.

The result

The result is a website that not only exceeded customer expectations, but also had an immediate positive impact on visitor numbers and bookings. Guests can now navigate the website much more easily, with the clear structure quickly guiding them to the information they need, such as apartment availability, prices, and the facilities the property offers. The intuitive interface makes the booking process easier than ever, resulting in a faster conversion from visitors to actual bookings.

For the customer, the new website has significantly reduced the administrative burden. Where previously bookings were handled manually via Facebook messages, everything is now done via the website, with bookings processed directly into the system. This has resulted in a more efficient way of working and more time for the customer to focus on other aspects of their business.

Feedback from visitors has been very positive, with them appreciating the clear navigation and professional look of the website. Many guests also noted that it has become easier to book their stay compared to the old system via social media. Although there are no exact figures yet on the increase in bookings, the customer is very satisfied with the visible improvement in user experience and the ease with which the website is managed.

In addition, the website is prepared for possible expansions in the future, such as adding a guestbook or a blog, with which Casa Callewaert can respond even further to the wishes of its visitors. The site therefore not only offers a solution for current needs, but is also future-proof. The customer is extremely satisfied with the result and indicated that the website has exactly the atmosphere and appearance that he was looking for: a place that is both modern, clear and inviting and in which the hospitality of Casa Callewaert is palpable.
